How we compare

This site compares construction bidding, takeoff and estimating software on the things that cost buyers money: the real price, who pays, and which plan unlocks bidding.

What we have and have not done

We have read each vendor's product and pricing pages, and named third-party sources where a vendor does not publish a price. We have not hands-on tested these tools. The "what sets it apart" notes are comparisons drawn from public pricing, plan limits and vendor documentation, not from using the software. Where a vendor's own claims are the only evidence, we say so.

What the price labels mean

• Vendor-published. Taken from the vendor's own pricing page.
• Third-party reported. Not confirmed on the vendor page; figures come from named third-party sources and may differ. Sources often disagree, and when they do we show the range.
• Quote only. The vendor does not publish a price. We do not estimate a number.

How tools are chosen and ordered

We list tools that a contractor could reasonably use to find, invite, price or compare bids. Tools are shown in alphabetical order. Nobody pays to be listed or to be placed higher, and the order never reflects a commission.

Money

Some outbound links are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission when you buy. Whether a vendor has an affiliate program does not decide whether it is listed or how it is described. Details are on the affiliate disclosure page.

Corrections
